According to published data, Huawei shipped 55.8 million smartphones globally in the second quarter of 2020, down 5% year-on-year; the second-ranked Samsung smartphone shipped 53.7 million units, down 30% year-on-year from the second quarter of 2019.
Ben Stanton, a senior analyst at Canalys, mentioned: “This is a remarkable achievement. Few people would have predicted it a year ago. However, it is difficult for Huawei to maintain its leading position for a long time.
