Huawei completes all tests of 5G millimeter wave base stations

According to the information, under the guidance of the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Huawei has completed all the functions and field performance test projects of 5G millimeter-wave base stations. The DDDSU frame structure has a single user downlink peak rate. More than 7Gbps.

In the functional test, Huawei completed a single carrier 200MHz large bandwidth under the independent networking (SA, Stand Alone), DDDSU and DSUUU flexible frame structure, millimeter wave downlink 4*200MHz, and uplink 2*200MHz frequency bands Internal CA (Carrier Aggregation, Carrier Aggregation) and millimeter wave and 3.5GHz high and low frequency NR-CA test items.

The large bandwidth of 200MHz on a single carrier can greatly increase the UE peak rate and maximize the advantage of millimeter waves. In September 2020, under the guidance of the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, domestic operators, mainstream equipment manufacturers and terminal manufacturers reached an agreement on the millimeter-wave single carrier bandwidth application standard: base stations and terminals must support 200MHz carrier bandwidth .

The high and low-frequency NR-CA can simultaneously take advantage of the large millimeter-wave bandwidth and the good coverage of 3.5GHz to ensure the continuous high-speed experience of 5G users. It is the mainstream technology direction of 5G high and low frequency synergy.

On the one hand, NR-CA technology is closer to signal to process on the radio frequency side, and can sense signal fluctuations in time, so that the base station can better perform offloading and scheduling, and improve transmission efficiency. On the other hand, the technology can support both NSA and SA networking architectures, and the network architecture and evolution are very flexible.

With the DDDSU frame structure, the single-user downlink peak rate in the millimeter-wave frequency band is greater than 7Gbps, and the cell downlink peak rate is greater than 12Gbps. With the DSUUU frame structure, the single-user uplink peak rate in the millimeter-wave frequency band is greater than 2Gbps, and the cell uplink peak rate is greater than 7.5Gbps, and the uplink capacity is greatly improved.
