Huawei updates HMS terms of service

Huawei’s phone with HMS services has recently been updated. Personalized advertisements appear in the “Terms and conditions”. Recently the company has made a £20 million investment plan to encourage British and Irish developers to integrate applications into the “Huawei Mobile Services” ecosystem.

Due to the “Entity List”, some Huawei phones cannot be pre-installed with Google services, so the called introduced Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).

The terms mention that the “Huawei Advertising” platform will retain users’ personalized data for one year, with servers located in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore. If the user agrees, the Huawei advertising platform will also push related ads based on geographic information. In addition, user data of Egypt, Mexico, India, South Korea, and Pakistan may be stored in corresponding local servers.
