During the Huawei Mate 40 series launch event, the company unveiled the world’s first 5nm chipset, Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E which is debut in the new foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X2.

The Kirin 9000 is the most full-featured 5G chipset that has the capability to handle multi-tasking operations and provide improved performance. It comes with three-level and with eight-core including 3.13 GHz Cortex A77 large core and three medium core 2.54GHz A77 and four small core 2.05GHz, 24 -core Mali-G78, Kirin Gaming+3.0, and more.

According to many sources, Huawei’s chip-making arm HiSilicon will soon launch the Kirin 9000L. The unannounced Kirin 9000L is said to be manufactured using Samsung’s 5nm EUV process

According to the report from WHYLAB, the Kirin 9000L will have the CPU core A77 at 2.86GHz, while the previous Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E both used the 3.13GHz A77 core. As for the GPU, Kirin 9000L has a larger reduction compared to the other two, with an 18-core Mali-G78 CPU, while the big brother Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E have 24 and 22 cores respectively.

One of the sources disclosed that the new chip may be utilized by the Huawei P50 alongside the Kirin 9000E. For now, nothing is official yet, we will hear regarding the same matter soon.

Launch Date:

The previous report suggests that the Huawei P50 series is likely to arrive in May 2021.

Display:

Huawei P50 and P50 Pro to launch with a 6.3-inch and 6.6-inch display respectively.

Processor:

The vanilla P50 will be equipped with Kirin 9000E while P50 Pro powered by Kirin 9000 processor.

Camera:

It was previously reported that the Huawei P50 series will bring a more powerful camera system. It will be equipped with Sony IMX800 CMOS as standard for all systems. This is the largest sensor in Sony’s history.

At the rear side of the phone, there is a huge vertically-aligned pill-shaped camera bump at the back, which has two large circular cutouts inside. It is possible that each circle will house more than one sensor, as we’ve seen a similar approach come to life on the HUAWEI Nova 8. Moreover, a fingerprint sensor we may see beneath the display, while the audio output is handled by speakers at the top and bottom.
