A Major Milestone in Data Privacy for Huawei

On July 18, 2025, Huawei Services (Hong Kong) Co., Limited was honored with the coveted “Outstanding Gold Award” at the Privacy-Friendly Awards 2025 Presentation Ceremony, organized by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) in Hong Kong. This prestigious recognition represents the highest level of achievement at the ceremony and underscores Huawei’s unwavering dedication to personal data privacy protection and robust data security governance.

The Privacy-Friendly Awards

Established in 2021, the Privacy-Friendly Awards aim to celebrate exemplary efforts of organizations and businesses in implementing sound personal data governance and maintaining high standards in privacy protection. The 2025 event was themed “Safeguarding Data Security: Marching towards a New Digital Era,” highlighting the growing importance of data security in Hong Kong’s journey toward smart city development and digital transformation. A total of 157 organizations competed, with only 12 earning the “Outstanding Gold Award” distinction, which places Huawei among a highly esteemed group of awardees.

Why Huawei Stood Out

Huawei earned this award because they really care about protecting people’s privacy in everything they do. Here are a few ways they stand out:

Strong Privacy System: Huawei has put a lot of thought into making sure privacy is built into every part of their company. They always keep up with the latest rules and best practices for keeping data secure.

Ready for Problems: They’ve set up clear steps for what to do if something goes wrong, like a data breach. The team even runs regular practice drills, so they’re ready to react quickly and keep things under control.
