Here is the twist in the Huawei Petal Search trademark

According to the latest information, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.’s “Petal Search” trademarks No. 52765919 and 52774570 got rejected. As we know that Huawei Petal Search is a search engine service provided by Huawei and recently it went live in China.

The document shows that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. applied for a re-examination because it refused to accept the trademark office’s rejection of the above-mentioned application for registration of the “petal search” trademark.

The review held that the applied trademark “Petal Search” and the cited trademarks both contained the word “petal”, which constituted similar trademarks, and their joint use in the same or similar services would easily cause confusion among the relevant public; the evidence submitted by the applicant was insufficient to prove the trademark application has been used to distinguish it from the cited trademarks.

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has applied for multiple “petal search” trademarks in 2021, but none of them have been successfully registered. Stay tuned for more information.
