Huawei asks FCC to remove
Huawei has asked the Federal Communications Commission to remove labels that have been affixed to Huawei with the “possibility to pose a risk to US national security”. Huawei said such labels are “illegal and have Misleading.”
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has previously voted to bar U.S. rural transportation companies from using federal subsidies to buy equipment from Huawei because Huawei poses a national security threat. The US government has $ 8.5 billion in universal service funds each year to subsidize US broadband deployment and services.
Huawei responded to the move in December, saying it was unconstitutional. In a nearly 200-page document filed with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Monday, Huawei stated that “the FCC’s move is designed to facilitate the election campaigns of certain government officials, including members of Congress, to impose a cumbersome and complicated Shameful restrictions. This practice will undoubtedly damage the reputation of the United States around the world. ”
However, the final decision on this charge remains with the FCC and the Homeland Security Agency.
