Huawei chip purchases ranked third in the world in 2019

According to a report from market research firm Gu Neng, global vendor’s, Huawei chip purchases ranked third in the world in 2019, purchase of semiconductors in 2019 was the US $418.302 billion, a decrease of 11.9% year-on-year, which was mainly due to the decline in memory prices in 2019.

According to Gu Neng’s data, the top three buyers are Apple, Samsung Electronics and Huawei. In 2019, Apple’s purchase amount reached 36.1 billion US dollars, accounting for 8.6% of the total amount, surpassing Samsung to become the world’s largest semiconductor sourcing company; the second largest Samsung purchase amount was 33.405 billion US dollars, accounting for 8%.

Despite continued pressure from the U.S. government, all overseas mobile phone sales have declined, but Huawei’s semiconductor procurement spending in 2019 still reached 20.804 billion US dollars, a slight decrease from 2018’s 21 billion US dollars, but still ranked third.
