Breaking: Huawei launched Mate X5 Foldable phone with 16GB RAM and more

Huawei has officially launched its new foldable phone – the Mate X5 in China. The all-new Mate X5 is launched with a different processor, more RAM, and a bigger battery.

Huawei Mate X5 foldable phone is available in 12GB and 16GB RAM options and the company has also listed Huawei Mate X5 Collector’s Edition variant featuring 16GB RAM. The pricing details of the latest device is still unknown but the Mate X5 can be pre-booked via VMall by paying CNY 1,000 in China.

The device sale will start from September 15. Its colour options are Feather White, Feather Black, Feather Gold, Phantom Purple, and Green Mountain Dai.

Huawei Mate X5 Specifications

The Huawei Mate X5 features a 7.85-inch OLED primary display with 2496 x 2224 pixels resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and P3 wide colour gamut.

It has a 6.4-inch cover display with a 2504 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. As usual, the device features Kunlun Glass protection.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Kirin 9000s chipset (however the exact chipset is not yet revealed). The foldable has multiple configurations featuring up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. These are 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB.

For optics, the Huawei Mate X5 is launched with a triple camera setup consisting of 50MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The other two cameras include a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 12MP periscope telephoto sensor with f/3.4 aperture and optical image stabilization. The module supports up to 5X optical zoom and up to 50X digital zoom.

For selfies, it has an 8MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 4K video recording. The device is packed with a 5,060mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging support. It also supports 50W wireless fast charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. It runs on HarmonyOS 4.0 as the operating system out of the box.
