Huawei leads in the global telecommunication equipment market in the first three quarters of 2020

According to the market research company, Dell’Oro Group on the overall global telecommunication equipment market for the third quarter of 2020 Huawei leads with a good figure. This report covers the entire telecommunication equipment market including broadband access, microwave, optical transmission, mobile core, radio access networks (RAN), SP routers, and carrier Ethernet switches (CES). Preliminary estimates indicate that the overall telecommunications equipment market has grown by 9% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2020 and 5% year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2020.

According to the analysis in the report, the revenue ranking of telecommunications equipment suppliers remained stable from 2019 to the first three quarters of 2020, with Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, ZTE, Cisco, Ciena, and Samsung ranking in the top seven. Together, these vendors Occupy 80% of the overall market.

After a year-on-year decline of 4% in the first quarter of 2020, the positive development trend in the second quarter extended to the third quarter, thanks to the optical transmission and multiple wireless networks including 5G RAN, 5G core network, and microwave mobile backhaul.

The overall telecom market seems to continue to be out of touch with basic economic development. Although the transition from 4G to 5G has helped offset the reduced capital expenditures in the mobile broadband market, Dell’Oro also attributed this disconnect to the increasing importance of network connectivity, and the nature of this recession is different from other times. The recession is different.

Dell’Oro analysts have not made any major changes to the overall outlook and predict that the overall telecom equipment market will grow by 5%-6% in 2020 and 3%-4% in 2021. It is estimated that the overall telecom equipment revenue in 2021 will be close to 90 billion-95 billion US dollars.
