Tian Feng International analyst Guo Mingchi said in a recent report that Huawei expects to use a freeform lens in the new high-end Mate models in the second half of this year, which can improve wide-angle image processing capabilities.

The Huawei Mate 40 series will also introduce a new generation of Kirin processors. Huawei will not only use the 5nm TSMC process, but it is rumored that both the CPU and GPU will be significantly improved.

The Huawei Mate 40 chipset will add TSMC’s 5nm for better power efficiency and more stable performance. For now, currently, 5 nm have two tech N5 and N5P. Compared to the older 7nm manufacturing process, N5 improves performance by 15 percent, power consumption by 30 percent and crystal density by 80 percent.

It is reported that the processor part of Kirin 1020 is based on the Cortex A77 or even A78.
