Huawei Official statement on Coronavirus COVID-19

Huawei Technologies Spain has monitored, for months, the situation related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and has complied with all the recommendations of the health authorities in order to guarantee the safety and protection of all its employees, as well as to ensure the continuity of development of business activities. To date, Huawei has not detected a positive case of coronavirus infection from employees in any of its offices in Spain.

With this commitment, and under the strict parameters of safeguarding and protecting health, since January the company has implemented an extensive protocol of preventive measures aimed at protecting all its employees, customers, partners and suppliers.

In this sense, disinfection, sterilization, and ventilation of offices and all common areas have been reinforced. In addition, Huawei Spain makes facial masks, body temperature measurement and special cleaning products available to all its employees to reinforce hygiene. The company’s medical service hours have also been extended for all employees who may require any medical check-up.

Additionally, international travel has been restricted and employees who have traveled or have had contact with people from China, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Iran or Singapore have been contacted to work from their homes and go to the doctor in if they have any kind of symptoms.

In addition to all these measures, Huawei has also decided to recommend teleworking in the coming weeks to the employees of the different offices in Spain. In this way, the company aims to guarantee the safety of its employees and their families, and limit the risk of contagion.
