Huawei P50 series will launch in May 2021, suggests leaker

As per last some leaks and rumors, it was said that Huawei will hold a new P50 series launch conference in April, but now a reliable Weibo blogger Peng Peng Jun said that the Huawei P50/Pro series will not be released in April or June. Leaker confirms that the Huawei P50 series event will be held in May 2021.

Previously, OnLeaks announced the renderings of Huawei P50 standard version and Huawei P50 Pro. Huawei P50 will use a 6.3-inch flat screen, a center single-hole front lens; the phone is about 156.7 x 74 x 8.3 mm in measurement.

The design of the Huawei P50 is simpler than that of Pro. It is also equipped with a rear panel made of glass and a slightly arched metal frame with a more traditional and simple design. It is reported that Huawei P50 is slightly thicker than Huawei P50 Pro.

According to the render, instead of a pill-shaped selfie camera this time Huawei is taking a centered hole-punch approach to the P50 Pro that looks more minimalist. The bezels are extremely thin and the glass is curved to achieve that waterfall design. The screen reportedly measures 6.6-inch and will likely employ a high-refresh-rate panel.

At the rear side of the phone, there is a huge vertically-aligned pill-shaped camera bump at the back, which has two large circular cutouts inside. It is possible that each circle will house more than one sensor, as we’ve seen a similar approach come to life on the HUAWEI Nova 8. Moreover, a fingerprint sensor we may see beneath the display., while the audio output is handled by speakers at the top and bottom.

It was previously reported that the Huawei P50 series will bring a more powerful camera system. It will be equipped with Sony IMX800 CMOS as standard for all systems. This is the largest sensor in Sony’s history.

As for the core configuration, the hardware configuration of the three new Huawei P50 series is slightly different. Among them, the P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ will be equipped with Huawei’s top processor Kirin 9000, while the standard version will be slightly inferior, equipped with the Kirin 9000E processor.
