Huawei publishes Malware Detection related patent with high accuracy and repeatability

According to the information, on June 22, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. published a patent for “Malware Detection Apparatus and Method”, with the publication number CN113015972A.

The patent abstract shows that the local feature descriptor used to detect the signature of malware in the file in the embodiment of the present invention is more robust in detecting the same feature in the image, without relying on scaling, shifting and noise.

The malware detection methods include:

• Generating an image from a file; generating a signature of the image, wherein the signature of the image indicates a local feature descriptor of the image
• Comparing the signature of the image with at least one predetermined signature in the malware signature repository
• Determine whether the file is a malicious file according to the comparison result
