Huawei releases the world’s first 5G-A commercial version Apollo based on R18
The 2024 Huawei User Conference held, Sun Rui, President of Huawei Wireless Network R&D, released the world’s first 5G-A commercial version Apollo based on the 3GPP R18 standard.
Apollo version can unleash the potential of multi-frequency networks through intelligent carrier selection and intelligent carrier aggregation , and the uplink and downlink experience in multiple business scenarios can be improved by up to 30%.
In multi-antenna scenarios, the Apollo version introduces intelligent beam management. Through software and hardware fusion innovation, it can continuously release the potential of TDD large bandwidth and M-MIMO, further improving network capabilities and user experience by 20%.
Apollo also introduced the digital twin system on the RAN side for the first time. Officials said that based on its multi-objective decision-making capabilities, it can achieve both optimal experience and energy saving.
5G-A stands for 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G. It is the technological evolution of 5G. Compared with 5G, it can achieve significant improvements in capacity, speed, latency, positioning, reliability, etc.
