Huawei trademarks Hongmeng Galaxy and HarmonyOS NEXT

Huawei has officially applied the trademark application for two new names – Hongmeng Galaxy and  HarmonyOS NEXT, which are internationally classified as scientific instruments. For now, the application is under review.

At the Hongmeng Ecosystem Qiansai Sailing Ceremony held on January 18, Huawei announced that the HarmonyOS NEXT Hongmeng Galaxy Edition system developer preview version is open for applications, and will launch the developer Beta program in Q2 (second quarter), Q4 ( fourth quarter) Release commercial version.

The HarmonyOS NEXT developer preview version will no longer be compatible with Android open-source applications and will only support Hongmeng kernel and system applications, so it is called “pure-blooded Harmony”.
