New Huawei MatePad 2025 Models: Kirin 8 and 9 Series Processors & 144Hz Displays

Huawei is releasing new versions of three tablets in 2025, all powered by their latest Kirin 8 and 9 series chips.

According to leaked information:

MatePad 11.5 (2025 version) – Code name: Salinger

  • 11.5-inch screen with sharp 2456×1600 resolution and smooth 120Hz refresh rate
  • LCD display technology
  • Kirin 8020 processor
  • Large 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging
  • Star Flash connectivity
  • Super thin at 6.1mm and lightweight at 515g
  • Colors: Purple, Green, Silver, Dark Gray

MatePad Air 12 (2025 version) – Code name: Laurent

  • 12-inch screen with 2800×1840 resolution and ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate
  • LCD display
  • Faster 66W wired charging
  • Kirin 9 series processor
  • Colors: Green, Pink, White, Gray

MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025 version) – Code name: Morandi

  • 12.2-inch screen with sharp 2.8K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate
  • Advanced Tandem OLED display technology
  • Kirin T92A or Kirin 9020A processors
  • Large 10,100mAh battery with super-fast 100W charging
  • WiFi 7 and Star Flash connectivity
  • Satellite communication capability
  • Ultra-thin at 5.5mm and lightweight at 508g
  • Colors: Black, White, Blue

Current Status: Huawei hasn’t officially announced these three tablets yet, but some details have leaked. For reference, Huawei already showed the MatePad Pro 12.2 2025, along with Freebuds 6 earbuds and WATCH FIT 4, at a Berlin conference in May this year.

About the MatePad Pro 12.2’s Display: The international version features a new PaperMatte display that uses 30% less power. It has 2800×1840 resolution (274 pixels per inch), 144Hz refresh rate, can get as bright as 2000 nits, and has excellent color accuracy. It’s certified by German companies for eye protection.

Size and Battery: The tablet measures 182.53×271.25×5.5mm, weighs just 508g, has a 10,100mAh battery, and supports fast charging (likely 100W). It can charge to 85% in 40 minutes and reach 100% in 55 minutes.
