US House of Representatives passes bill barring government from buying Huawei gears

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill that will now prevent the government from using funds to help carriers buy Huawei’s telecommunications equipment.

Commenting on this, Frank Pallone Jr., Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman, Ranking Member Greg Walden, Reps. Doris Matsui, and Brett Guthrie said that the move is critical to protect America’s wireless networks from “malicious foreign interference”. Companies like Huawei and its affiliates pose a significant threat to America’s commercial and security interests because a lot of communications providers rely heavily on their equipment.

Recently,  Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, the company has released the third episode of a documentary titled “Who is Huawei”. So many of the company’s executives interviewed & Richard Yu is the one, He said “We want to make mid- to high-end products and promote Huawei’s own brand.”

According to Mr. Yu, Huawei had entered the smartphone sector with just low-end OEM products eight years ago an almost exited the market. At that time, the mobile phones business was not very big as it is today and Huawei was faced with the challenge of poor customer experience. He took credit for the decision to move to the mid- and high-end segment. In his words, “I made an important decision. We want to make mid- to high-end products and promote Huawei’s own brand. It was a very bold decision.”
