Huawei‘s founder Ren Zhengfei has been quoted for the big change to the company’s point of view, He hinted that the company is planning to move its R&D center from the US to Canada. Ren Zhengfei said in the interview that the company is increasing Canada’s importance to Huawei and plans to transfer its R & D center from the United States to Canada and manufacture some mobile network equipment outside China.
The company invested $15.3 billion in R&D last year, making it one of the top 5 companies to invest in R&D alongside Alphabet and Samsung. Huawei’s director and dean of the Strategic Research Institute Xu Wenwei had earlier revealed that the firm currently has more than 80,000 R&D personnel worldwide, accounting for about 45% of the total workforce.
Recently, the “Wall Street Journal” quoted a report from UBS and Japanese technology laboratory Fomalhaut Techno Solutions, saying that Huawei Mate 30 Pro mobile phone no longer contains US-made parts. The Wall Street Journal pointed out that Huawei has made great progress in getting rid of American parts and chips.
