Huawei teases P50 series at HarmonyOS for smartphone event

Huawei unveiled its Harmony OS 2.0 operating system on June 2 and brought tablets, a new smartwatch, and even some gaming monitors. During the event, the company has played 45-second promo of the Huawei P50 series. For now, there is no official word on when the P50 series will debut.

The promo shows that the P50 Pro will have a quad-camera system, concluding with a wide view of the phone on a sunset horizon. Huawei shares that the P50 series have a beautiful, thin and light design and that they raise the bar in terms of phone photography.

The Huawei P50 series will feature a 1-inch camera sensor, namely the Sony IMX800. Looking at a screengrab from the video the quad camera on the Huawei P50 will go from 18mm to 125mm, suggesting a 5x periscope zoom would account for the long end.

This is also the largest sensor in Sony’s history, which can bring more powerful imaging effects. With Huawei’s unique RYYB arrangement, night shooting capabilities will be upgraded again to become a new generation of night vision devices.
