Huawei officials have recently stated that “Huawei will build two operating systems, both of which will be open source.” Recently, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said that the two operating systems are oriented to different application scenarios.

HarmonyOS (Hongmeng) system is mainly oriented to smart terminals, IoT terminals and industrial terminals, while Euler’s operating system is mainly oriented to servers, edge computing, cloud and embedded equipment.

Last month, during the Huawei Full Connect Conference 2021, Huawei officially released the operating system openEuler. Hongmeng and Euler will share the underlying technology and embed the most advantageous part of Hongmeng into Euler. In the future, all devices that use the Euler operating system, as long as there is a Hongmeng operating system device next to it, can automatically connect, so that Hongmeng and Euler can be connected.

It is reported that Huawei is currently building an operating system that covers all scenarios through Euler and Hongxing, and all are open source, so that the industry can participate and work together to make them better so that more scenarios can be adapted in the future.

Talking about the development of Huawei’s mobile phone business, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said, “Due to US sanctions, there is no chip, and it does face great challenges.”

But he emphasized that Huawei will not give up its mobile phone business, nor will it sell it, and is working hard to get the mobile phone business back on track in due course. “We hope that consumers around the world, especially Chinese consumers, can still buy Huawei branded 5G mobile phones. ”
