January 2021 security patch rolling out to Huawei Nova 5i

Huawei has started upgrading its Nova 5 series smartphones to the January 2021 security patch. Recently the Nova 5i Pro, Nova 5 and Nova 5z grabbed this update and now the Huawei Nova 5i users receiving the January 2021 patch update with the latest software version 10.0.0.131.

According to the security patch, the new build doesn’t carry any significant new feature except the obvious bump in the Android security patch level (SPL).  As usual, this month includes plenty of security patches, including a handful of “high” and “critical” severity ones.

Huawei Nova 5i smartphone runs on Android 9 pie operating system (Upgradable). This smartphone is powered by Octa core (2.2 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A73 + 1.7 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor and the device inside gets a HiSilicon Kirin 710 Chipset. The Nova 5i has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.

As far as the camera concern the buyers get a 24 MP Front Camera and on the rear, there’s a 24+8+2+2 MP camera with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus. It is backed by a 4000 mAh battery.
