According to the latest report from “World Intellectual Property Organization” (WIPO), Huawei has secured the top position in the list of global patent applications in 2023.

In the list, the South Korean tech giant Samsung and US telecommunications accessories maker Qualcomm ranked second and third respectively.
The latest report for 2023 shows that total patent applications reached 272,600, down 1.8 percent year-on-year for the first time in 14 years. HUAWEI also recorded a slight decrease compared to the previous year (7689 patent applications in 2022).
Now the Chinese company ranks first in global patent applications with 6,494 filings in 2023, while Samsung is second with 3,924 filings. Qualcomm, on the other hand, takes third place on the list with 3,410 registrations.
