HarmonyOS 4 coming in 2023: Revealed by He Gang, chief operating officer

At the HDC 2022, He Gang, the chief operating officer of Huawei Device BG discloses that Huawei will release HarmonyOS 4 by next year.

Notably, HarmonyOS 1.0 was released in 2019, which put forward distributed technology and verified its feasibility. While in 2020, Huawei come up with HarmonyOS 2.0 for developers. That brings upgrades to distributed capabilities. Simultaneously, they released a beta version for developers of smart screens, smart wearables, and vehicle products respectively.

Moving forward, in June 2021, the tech firm released HarmonyOS 2 officially. Later in the same year, HarmonyOS 3 was officially released. It is built on the success of its predecessor, and therefore it is more updated and optimized deeply.

According to the company, in the four years of HarmonyOS, the company primarily intended on five major scenarios along with eight innovative technologies that were put together as the foundation of HarmonyOS. It is led by 30,000+ APIs which act as a HarmonyOS brick. Also, the full link self-developed development kits act as HarmonyOS tools. This is all intended in order to build a HarmonyOS world.

Further, as per the data released by Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Device BG division. As per the same, the number of Huawei devices equipped with HarmonyOS has exceeded 320 million. It records an increase of 113% over the same period as compared to the last year. Whereas the shipment volume of HarmonyOS products crosses the numbers of 250 million. And that records a rise of 212% over the same period last year.
