Huawei has recently completed the first 5G base station emergency communication test via drone, it covered 6.5KM when flying at 200m altitude. The test was conducted in Xiong’an New District, Hebei Province, and the feasibility of the scheme was fully verified using a tethered drone + 5G high-altitude base station. While testing, it uses Huawei’s 4 / 5G dual-mode BOOKRRU + custom omnidirectional antenna, which is smaller in size, lighter in weight, and easy to carry.
