Foreign media quoted an unnamed person familiar with the matter as saying that the delegation argued that the UK could not reduce the security risks posed by Huawei’s access to the network.
In terms of production, Huawei is the world’s second-largest mobile phone maker, but it has been difficult to make progress in the United States, in part because of concerns expressed by the US government. U.S. government regulators including the FBI, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the US National Security Agency (NSA), the Federal Communications Commission, and the House Intelligence Committee all suspect Huawei’s equipment Will be used to monitor other countries or businesses.
The UK is expected to make a decision later this month on whether to include Huawei equipment in the network.
