Huawei 2nd-generation Mate X foldable phone coming on Second half of next year

Huawei Mate X foldable phone upgraded version has not yet been released, and the second-generation Mate X foldable-screen phone is already on the road. It is reported that Huawei will launch the 2nd-generation Mate X foldable phone in the second half of next year.

According to the recent reports, Huawei has begun mass production of new components. The second-generation Mate X may choose to launch with the Mate 40 series. Undoubtedly, they are expected to simultaneously carry the rumored Kirin 1000 series processors and natively support 5G networks.

Huawei is rumored to use ARM’s Cortex-A77 cores with the Kirin 1020 instead of Cortex-A76 cores it retained with the Kirin 990 and Kirin 990 5G. This helps Kirin 1020 to easily gain a 50% performance improvement over its predecessor. On the other hand, Huawei is preparing to launch brand new silicon chip Kirin 1020 or Kirin 1000 in the upcoming months.

The Kirin 1020 code-named Baltimore has almost locked in the use of TSMC’s 5nm process, which can improve performance by up to 50% compared to Kirin 990.

Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, announced that an upgraded version of Huawei Mate X will be released during MWC 2020.
