Hertz platform - Huawei News

During the global Antenna Technology & Industry Forum 2021, Huawei releases its Hertz platform antennas. This series of antennas apply a number of innovative technologies in the feed system, array architecture, energy efficiency, etc., to help operators in the efficient evolution of Sub3G NR.

Hertz platform has the following advantages:

1. Higher MIMO performance

Using Ultra-resolution Beam technology, Hertz platform provides high-precision beamforming and beam directivity to boost MIMO performance. This increases capacity by 15% in FDD 8T8R networks.

2. Powerful configuration capabilities, Sub3G single-sky minimal deployment

For the first time in the industry, Hertz platform adopts eight-array side-by-side architecture to achieve powerful configuration and derivation capability. As such, low-band 4T4R, mid-band 4T4R, and mid-band 8T8R can be deployed in a single antenna. Additionally, with the leading array decoupling technology, the antenna size is 30% smaller than the traditional design. Network evolution does not require extra antenna space, greatly simplifying site acquisition and installation.

3. High energy efficiency

The leading SDIF technology minimizes feed loss to improve energy efficiency by 10%~15%. This means that antennas can provide a better network coverage with the same level of transmit power, or use a lower transmit power to achieve the same level of coverage.

Eric Zhao, President of Huawei Antenna Business Unit, said: “5G is scaling up and continuously evolving. Antenna will play an important role to improve network performance, accelerate site deployment, and achieve the low-carbon goal. Huawei will continue to innovate on target networks to help customers achieve business success through efficient network deployment and evolution.”
