According to recent rumors, Huawei was expected to launch 5G smartphones. Now in response, He Gang, the Chief Operating Officer of the Consumer Business Group confirmed that the news related to the 5G launch is false. He Gang hinted at a major announcement happening after October, possibly related to 5G phones.

Huawei is currently using the 4G versions of Qualcomm chips. He Gang dismisses the rumors, he didn’t deny the possibility of a 5G phone launch either.

Huawei’s CEO, Richard Yu, talked about some rumors regarding Qualcomm providing 5G chips to Huawei again. He explained that Huawei can get the required 5G chips from sources within the country. They can use advanced semiconductor design tools and chips made by the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC).

As per the latest report, the 5G versions of flagship models, such as the P60, might release on 2024. A popular tipster claims that Kirin-branded processors will be launched later this year, but they are expected to have limited power.
