Huawei’s various FreeBuds headphones have new audio functions

According to the information, a variety of FreeBuds headphones and smart glasses getting a new feature update, which adds support for audio service cards and application broadcasts.

Feature 1: Audio Service Card
In the form of a shortcut, the audio connection center is directly added to the mobile phone desktop, and the headset can be quickly switched between multiple devices with one touch!

Applicable Products:

HUAWEI FreeBuds 4, HUAWEI FreeBuds 4E, HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro, HUAWEI FreeBuds Lipstick, FreeBuds Studio, Huawei Smart Glasses.

How to set it up:

1. Update first!

* Huawei mobile phone/tablet needs to be upgraded to HarmonyOS 2.0 and above;

* Open HUAWEI AppGallery, click My → Update Management, click Audio Manager and Smart Life App in the update list to update (not in the list means it is the latest version).

2. After completing the update:

Method 1: Connect the headset, Settings→Bluetooth Settings→Audio Service Card→Add to Desktop

Method 2: Connect the headset, Smart Life App → Headphone Card Page → Audio Service Card → Add to Desktop

Function 2: Quick reminder – application broadcast
After turning it on, you can “hear” the latest news anytime, anywhere without picking up your phone! Chat messages (you can also remind if there are red envelopes), takeaways, taxis, etc., important information is not omitted!

Connect the headset, Smart Life App → Headphone Card Page → Quick Reminder → App Notification Broadcasting → Click Authorization → Select the application you want to broadcast, and choose to enable important notification broadcast or all notification broadcast according to your needs

Possible reasons for setting but not broadcasting

The phone/tablet is in the unlocked and bright screen state;

Do not disturb mode is enabled on the phone/tablet;

The app that needs to be broadcast does not have the message notification permission;

A group chat or contact is set to do not disturb.

PS. If the Smart Life App has been updated, but the setting entry of “Audio Service Card” or “Quick Reminder” is still not displayed, you can close the Smart Life App and reopen it.

The FreeBuds Pro headset is being tested in version 576, and the update page shows HarmonyOS 2.1.0.576.
