Huawei Mate 50 Series: Snapdragon SM8425, Waipio Lte codename, 3C certifications

Huawei Mate 50 series is set to make its debut on September 6, 2022 (next month). According to the 3C certification, the Huawei Mate 50 series has passed the certification, the model CET-AL00, a total of three models, all support the 66W fast charging specification.

Now, the popular Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station shared processor information of the upcoming Mate 50 series. As per the post, the phone will use the Snapdragon SM8425, codenamed Waipio LteHuaw. The tipster revealed that the SM8450 (Snapdragon 8 Gen1) is code-named Waipio, and the SM8475 (Snapdragon 8+ Gen1) code-name is Cape.

The whole series of Huawei Mate 50, Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Huawei Mate 50 RS doesn’t contain 5G support and are dual-card dual-standby mobile phones equipped with the HarmonyOS operating system.

Judging from the promo image, this year’s Mate 50 series will bring new image capabilities using Huawei’s own XMAGE technology. At the same time, the Mate 50 Pro and above models will also be equipped with a periscope telephoto lens and a variable aperture main camera lens.
