Canalys: Huawei shipped 14.9 million units in the Q1 2021, ranked 3rd
According to a Canalys report, the Chinese smartphone market has finally returned to the level of the first quarter of 2019. Smartphone shipments reached 92.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 27%.
The report pointed out that vivo won the domestic market with shipments soaring 79% year-on-year to 21.6 million units. OPPO ranked second with 20.6 million units shipped. Huawei slipped to third, shipping 14.9 million units in the first quarter of 2021 (after independence, Honor ranked sixth with nearly 5 million units).
In addition, Xiaomi and Apple ranked fourth and fifth, shipping 13.5 million and 12 million units respectively. Canalys research analyst Amber Liu said, “The Chinese smartphone market has regained its past prosperity. Leading players are racing to reach the peak of the market, which is similar to the first quarter of 2020 or even the fourth quarter of 2020.
