According to the information, Huawei has started sending the stable EMUI 12 update for the Nova 5T users in the global market. The beta testers are currently receiving the new firmware. As always, you should still be patient, not everyone can get the update on the first day. The distribution usually takes about three weeks and if you are unlucky and end up at the end of the list, you, unfortunately, have to wait a little longer.
The beta testers will get an update size is 782 MB. However, non-testers should expect a size above 2.5 GB. Make sure you will download it via a proper internet connection.
In addition, before you get started with EMUI 12, you should curb your impatience and anticipation for a moment and, if you don’t have an automatic data backup, quickly back up at least the most important data. You can find the function in the settings under System → Backup & restore.

Notes on Updating
- This update will not delete your personal information. However, it is recommended to back up important data before updating.
- Some third-party apps that are not compatible with EMUI 12 may not work properly after updating. It is recommended to update these apps to the latest version in the app store
- If you encounter problems during the update, call the HUAWEI customer hotline or visit a HUAWEI customer service center.
- The home screen layout may change slightly.
- The system version can be rolled back to the official version EMUI 11 in HiSuite. If you roll back the system version, all your personal data will be deleted. Therefore, back up your data beforehand.
- The update package will be automatically deleted after the update is complete.
