Huawei AppGallery will clean up applications that only support 32-bit

On June 25th, the Huawei developer official website made an announcement regarding the enhancement of application performance and reduction of power consumption impact. To achieve these goals, Huawei AppGallery will be promoting the transition of on-shelf applications to the 64-bit version.

Starting from August 1, 2023, Huawei AppGallery will gradually remove applications that exclusively support 32-bit. Developers are urged to promptly upgrade and replace their application packages.

Huawei provides the following recommended adaptations for developers

Uploading only the 64-bit package: It is advised to directly upload the 64-bit APK package to ensure optimal performance on 64-bit models.

App Bundle application distribution: Developers can upload their software packages in the aab format. During the distribution phase of the App Bundle, the aab package will be divided into corresponding APK files based on the CPU type of the device, enabling flexible distribution and effectively reducing the size of the application package.
