Huawei decided to sue against the FCC: Details
According to the Wall Street Journal, The Chinese giant Huawei is decided to sue against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to ban U.S. telecommunications operators from using government subsidies to purchase Huawei telecommunications equipment or services.
The company is still facing lots of issues with the US gov. and we can see more to come on the same period. As we reported on Nov 23rd, The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) passed a decision prohibiting operators from using federal subsidy funds to purchase Huawei and ZTE equipment. The committee also voted to require the US operator involved to remove and replace the equipment of the two companies from the existing network.

Huawei objected to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) vote to prohibit operators from using federal subsidy funds to purchase Huawei equipment. The decision of the FCC is based on one-sided information and misinterpretation of Chinese law. In the absence of evidence, Huawei is considered to constitute a national security threat, not only in violation of the due process principles of legislation, but also suspected of violating the law.
FCC’s general service funding is primarily used to improve telecommunications and broadband Internet services in rural and remote areas. Without the support of this fund, many US carriers in remote areas will not be able to continue to obtain competitive Huawei products and services, and will continue to provide reliable, high-speed communication services for public facilities such as schools, hospitals, and libraries. Competition in the market (especially 5G networks) will be weakened, and ordinary consumers will have to pay a higher price for network services.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
The FCC is very clear about prohibiting operators from purchasing Huawei equipment and not really improving the network security situation in the United States. Network security and user privacy protection are Huawei’s highest business programs. Since its establishment 30 years ago, Huawei has established end-to-end network security practices from strategy, supply chain, research and development to products and solutions. Huawei operates in more than 170 countries around the world. And the region, there has never been a major cybersecurity incident, and they have earned their trust by fully meeting their network security needs.
Huawei urged FCC and Ajit Pai to reconsider the decision. We are also willing to open communication with the US government and policymakers to find effective solutions to protect US telecommunications network security and safeguard the interests of consumers in rural and remote areas of the United States.
Huawei responded to the FCC’s decision by issuing a statement”, We consider this decree illegal because the FCC excludes Huawei on the grounds of national security. However, it did not provide any evidence that Huawei is actually a threat. On the contrary, the FCC has a wrong view of Chinese laws. It assumes that Huawei may be under the control of the Chinese government”.

Huawei is all set for a major product launch event on September 19th in Barcelona. The lineup is expected to include new additions to the Huawei Watch GT series, potentially the Watch GT 5 and Watch GT 5 Pro. Huawei recently teased these products on social media, offering a glimpse of their design.
Ahead of the official unveiling, images of the Huawei Watch GT 5 46mm (VLI-B19) and GT 5 Pro 46mm (VLI-B29) have surfaced through NCC certification documents. These images reveal several key features:
- Circular dial with a functional crown and an additional button, likely for exercise controls
- Metallic body surrounding the display
- Health sensors on the rear
- Interchangeable straps: silicone options in blue and black for both models, with an exclusive metal strap for the GT 5 Pro

The certification also shows a magnetic wireless charger (model CCAK23LP1350T2) compatible with both new models and the previous GT 4. This charger supports 5V-9V at 2A input, suggesting 18W fast charging capability.
These leaked details offer a comprehensive preview of Huawei’s upcoming smartwatch offerings, showcasing both aesthetic and functional improvements over previous models.
Huawei officially started teasing the new watch overseas. The watch will be unveiled at the Huawei Innovation Product Launch Conference held in Barcelona, Spain on September 19 local time.
The watch has two function buttons on the side, the dial theme and the outer ring of the case are designed in white and green , and the bezel is printed with scales. The overall image of the watch is similar to the Huawei WATCH Ultimate series of smart watches. the watch is expected to be the Huawei WATCH Ultimate Green Legend .
The Huawei WATCH Ultimate smartwatch was first released in March 2023. It is equipped with a 1.5-inch LTPO OLED flexible screen, a sapphire mirror, and supports two-way Beidou satellite messaging function, which can send and receive Beidou satellite messages with one click. The watch also supports IP68 and 10ATM, claiming to achieve 100-meter diving-level waterproofing for smartwatches.
