As we know that the Huawei’s mobile phone system is still based on EMUI 11 (based on Android 10) and from the past some months the company has released the Hongmeng mobile phone system beta version to developers but for now, it is still unclear when Huawei mobile phones can be upgraded and which phones can be upgraded.
However, on EMUI 11, Huawei has already applied some distributed technologies in advance, and this is also one of the core of Hongmeng system, so we can regard EMUI 11 as a small experiment of Hongmeng system on Huawei mobile phones. Regarding the EMUI 11.1 concern, it is reported that this will completely be upgraded to the Hongmeng kernel, and this is likely to be the last version of the Huawei EMUI system.
It is reported that EMUI 11.1 will officially launch in March 2021. Not only will a large number of Huawei mobile phones be upgraded to this system, but Huawei will not develop the EMUI system in the future and the company will replace EMUI with the Hongmeng system, so this is the last EMUI system version.
In the core, EMUI 11.1 will use the Hongmeng kernel, which will add more Hongmeng system functions. The expected first batch of upgradeable models includes four models in the Huawei Mate 40 series: Huawei Mate40, Huawei Mate40 Pro, Huawei Mate40 Pro+ and Huawei Mate40 RS Porsche; Huawei P40 Three models: Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro+; Huawei nova 7/8 four models: nova8, nova8 Pro, nova7, nova7 Pro; at the same time, Huawei Mate 30 series and P30 series models can be upgraded to the EMUI 11.1 system.
However, after Huawei officially launched the Hongmeng mobile phone version system, Huawei can upgrade the Honor mobile phones to the Hongmeng system by authorization. After all, the Hongmeng system is different from EMUI. EMUI is only for Huawei mobile phones, while the Hongmeng system is a more open system that can be used by third-party manufacturers. So at that time, Honor will obtain authorization from Huawei, and it will be a very simple matter to upgrade the previous Honor phones to the Hongmeng system.
