Huawei at the launch event of the Mate X2 folding screen phone conference stated that the rollout of Hongmeng/Harmomy OS system upgrades for Huawei’s flagship models will kick off from April 2021.
Many users of old models are very concerned about whether they can upgrade the Hongmeng OS system and hope to experience the operating system developed by Huawei for the first time.
According to the Weibo tipster Changan Digital King said that after communication and verification with relevant personnel, the current tentative plan is to carry Huawei’s Kirin 710 chip or higher. No matter Huawei or Honor , Huawei Harmony OS will be upgraded. (It is temporarily unclear whether or not Kirin 710 is included).
This means that at least mobile phones equipped with chips such as Huawei Kirin 810, Kirin 820, Kirin 820E, Kirin 980, Kirin 990, Kirin 985 and Kirin 9000 can basically guarantee the upgrade of the Huawei Hongmeng OS system.
Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer BG software department, said in an interview that the Hongmeng OS system will cover 200 million Huawei mobile phone products this year.
At the same time, Wang Chenglu also revealed that Huawei will ensure that Hongmeng OS will be covered to more models to the greatest extent. At present, more than 90% of the models on the market will upgrade the Hongmeng OS system.
